Privacy Policy

Ryoden’s Basic Stance on Handling of Personal Information

  • Ryoden Corporation (“the Company”) is committed to the appropriate management of personal information. The Company complies strictly with the Act on Protection of Personal Information (“the Personal Information Protection Act”) and related laws and ordinances. In addition, the Company establishes regulations on the protection of personal information and appoints a Personal Information Protection Officer on the basis of those regulations.
  • The Company thoroughly informs its directors and employees regarding the protection and appropriate methods of management of personal information and takes thorough measures to ensure the appropriate handling of personal information in the course of routine operations.

Acquisition of Personal Information

Except in cases where the purposes for which personal information is used are published in advance, the Company promptly notifies customers, etc. (“the Individuals”) of the purposes for which their personal information will be used. The Company obtains personal information appropriately and in accordance with law.

Purposes of Use of Personal Information

The Company uses the personal information provided to it within the scope of the following purposes of use, in relation to its business activities (details can be viewed here).

Customers’ Personal Information

  • Provision of information regarding products and services handled by the Company (hereinafter referred to by the generic term “the Services”)
  • Provision of support for the Services
  • Sending out guides to and operating exhibitions, events, etc.
  • Conducting business discussions and meetings, contacting relevant persons, etc.
  • Fielding inquiries and providing consultations regarding the Services

Shareholders’ Personal Information

  • Exercise of rights and fulfillment of duties based on the Companies Act
  • Data tabulation and statistical processing, including preparation of shareholder data according to criteria based on relevant laws
  • Management of shareholder contacts and information about inquiries from shareholders

Personal information of job applicants

  • Provision of hiring information to and other contacts with job applicants
  • Management of hiring duties at the Company

Except as provided by law, the Company does not use the personal information provided to it beyond the scope necessary to accomplish the purposes of use except with the prior agreement of the Individuals, except in some cases where the purpose of use is clear, such as the exchange of business cards according to normal business customs and shipping products.

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Company does not provide personal data to third parties except in the following cases:

  • When the agreement of the Individuals has been obtained
  • When entrusting the handling of personal data, in whole or in part, within the scope necessary to accomplish the purposes of use
  • When providing information in relation to the succession/transfer of business, due to corporate merger or similar reasons
  • When personal data is used jointly based on the following stipulations
  • When permitted under the Personal Information Protection Act and other laws of Japan

Joint Use of Personal Data

The Company may use the personal data provided to it by the Individuals jointly with Ryosho Techno Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Company, as necessary to accomplish the purposes listed under “Purposes of Use of the Personal Information” in the Privacy Policy.

Management of Personal Data

  • The Company protects the accuracy of the personal data and manages it safely, in accordance with the the Personal Information Protection Act.
  • The Company takes appropriate information security measures to prevent the loss, damage, falsification, leakage and unlawful access to personal data.
  • Before entrusting the handling of personal data to a contractor, the Company concludes the necessary contract with the contractor, and takes other measures as required by law.
  • Collection of Personal Information from the Website The Company’s website sometimes uses cookies. Cookies are small information files that communicate between the website and the Individuals’ computers. These files remember information that will be useful the next time the Individuals visit the website, providing the Individuals with the best possible user experience. Individuals who do not wish to use cookies can prohibit the use of cookies in their browser settings; however, in this case certain services may be unavailable to them.

Disclosure, Correction, etc. of Personal Data

  • Individuals who wish to request notification of the purposes of use, disclosure, correction, etc. of their personal data held by the Company or termination of provision of their personal data to third parties can contact Personal Information Protection Inquiries. After confirmation of identity, the Company will respond smoothly and appropriately to each request.
  • The Company also responds appropriately within a reasonable scope to questions, complaints, consultation and other contact regarding its handling of personal information.
